The presentation and literature review will explore strategy variances in reading digital versus traditional print and its affect on functional literacy. Writing for social and multi-media will be included. The presentation will culminate with a discussion of what strategies work best to effectively read and write in digital venues, along with the value of digital literacy from a teaching and learning perspective along a literacy spectrum that includes speed, comprehension, and how information is stored and managed visually and cognitively.
