ILLITERACY WHEN EDUCATED

How can educated people be illiterate? Illiteracy should not necessarily mean who can’t read or write, it can be people who read for educational purposes, thinking that reading is a want not a need. Reading influenced my character and decisions that made me who I am now. So, I decided to help society in decreasing the rate of adult illiteracy.

Illiteracy when educated. Illiteracy doesn’t always mean who can’t read or write, people who read for education purposes are illiterate since they look at the world from a small and limited point of view. In our area, the majority believe that reading is a want not a need, kind of luxurious act. Unaware that Reading can gives us more than academic degree. it takes us to other worlds, gives us the opportunity to live more than one life, and it provides keys to unlock new perspectives in our lives. Reading changed my point of view towards life, it made me believe that you should never wait for the change, do it yourself. These couple of words influenced me, and made me who I am now mom, a life skill coach, co-founder of a publishing and distributing house, author, and trainer. My story went through a long journey where I tried to help myself and the people around me to activate this slogan and apply it in our lives. It’s not easy to change concepts and thoughts for adults, imagine we are trying to do this for educated ones?
