By providing rural school libraries, pupils have an opportunity to develop their literacy and consequently improve their vocabulary. While many believe that Aussie Books For Zim is about books, it is much more than that.it is about life, hope and opportunity.

Achieving literacy is a problem faced by numerous developing countries due to the lack of reading material predominantly in rural areas where children have little to no access to books. By providing rural school libraries, pupils have an opportunity to develop their literacy and consequently improve their vocabulary. The rural school library should be the hub of information to enable equal access to pupils to help them achieve the desired level of literacy and numeracy.
